Need some additional creativity to plan a trip to a new national park this kind of spring or summer season (not to mention, brush up on your own photography skills) Browse the recently announced winners from the Share the feeling 2015 photo contest, located by the National Playground Foundation, ACTIVE Community, and Celestron. More than 20,000 entries had been submitted, documenting stunning landscapes, up-close insects, and regal wildlife via national parks and open public lands across the country. In case these images don’t give you the itch to head out and discover the outdoors, we’re not sure what’s going to.
And, if looking at them sparks your inner Ansel Adams, start snapping some shots of your own to enter into the 2016 Reveal the Experience, which is now open. For more inspiration, check out a few of our favorites from the 2015 winners.
1. Yang Lu, Glen Gorge National Recreation Area
In order to capture this image (plus the $10,000 grand reward), Yang Lu and his partner set out on a two-day treking trip in Utah’s Glen Gorge National Recreation Area , when they didn’t see any other folks. He had done extensive analysis on water amounts and scouting an ideal location, and his picture shows it. “There isn’t any trail; we been dependent on my research,” he admits that. “I wanted to go in the winter when the temperature and water levels were minimal. The curves the ones formations, I have never noticed anywhere.”
2. Koustubh Kulkarni, Joshua Shrub National Park
Kulkarni had been hiking on Joshua Sapling National Park ’s Forty-nine Palms Trail together with his wife, who very first spotted the royal wildlife. 4. Steve Ancik, Ah-shi-sle-pah Wilderness Study Area
Ancik got up genuinely early to snag his haunting image, that won the Scenic, Seasons, and Scenery category, in this remote wilderness in the San Juan Pot area of New Mexico. They drove 10 miles on rugged dirt roads and hiked yet another three miles, most in the pre-dawn hours, to trap the sunrise at the rock formation referred to as King of Chicken wings, stands six feet tall and overhangs at least 12 feet. It’s the bones, however, that really takes the shot through great to epic. “The skeleton was already presently there and it turned out to be a beautiful sunrise with lots of shades,” Ancik says.
5. Erik Fremstad, Badlands Countrywide Park
