As a number of you know, we help several charities with the 1% for the Planet system. Not only does this mean that will together (yes which includes you, our customers!) we are helping to offer the environment, it also ensures that occasionally we get out of the office with some Frugi fans to discover what these charitable groups do, and talk with the wildlife these people support!
Last week, with your buckets and netting at the ready we joined marine conservationist Ruth Williams and Cornwall Creatures Trust for a great rockpool ramble at certainly one of their conservation regions, Prisk Cove.
Being lucky enough to live in Cornwall we’re surrounded by a whole host of wonderful marine life, however it’s not until you obviously have the time to stop and appearance that you find out what interesting creatures you can find hanging out in rockpools!
So we began our rockpooling experience, and after wobbling across the closer rockpools (paying particular attention to not dropping the digital camera!) we got closer to the shoreline and started to possess a peek around the rockpools. A whole range of marine living literally popped up everywhere in the place- cue a lot of enthusiastic children and some just as excited adults! Ruth spoke us through our own finds from weight trainer crabs to
Cornish suckerfish, spiney starfish to lift lobsters it was hard not to be fascinated by the world of the rockpool. Did you know that a starfish could regenerate their arms if they lose them Or that you can notify the gender of an crab by the shape of the plate on it’s underneath
